Our Mission in Reshaping Cancer Care

The Color Care Team handles follow-up to help turn test results into timely care. Far too many people face delays or barriers to care simply because of where they live, what they earn, or what insurance coverage they have. Whether someone is navigating screening, diagnosis, or survivorship, they won’t have to do it alone. We’re proud to work with Color to close that gap for the 156 million Americans who rely on employer- or union-sponsored care.” “Over two million people will be diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. this year. Provide personal nutrition plans and lifestyle interventions to reduce risk

In June 2023, Color and the American Cancer Society (ACS) introduced a cancer screening and prevention program for employers and labor organizations, combining the ACS’s expertise in cancer screening, prevention, and risk reduction with Color’s leadership in population-scale healthcare delivery. Color provides a more connected, direct, and proactive approach by assessing cancer risk and making screening more accessible, accelerating time to diagnosis, guiding patients through treatment, and providing care and support for survivors. The solution combines the ACS’s expertise in cancer screening, prevention, and risk reduction with Color’s leadership in population-scale healthcare delivery, enabling organizations and individuals to a) detect cancer earlier and b) manage cancer more effectively. In the continuing spirit of access, the White House recently highlighted our joint pledge with the American Cancer Society to provide free at-home colorectal cancer screenings for uninsured and under-insured individuals. Color and ACS have launched a pilot to distribute free at-home FIT kits—used for colorectal cancer screening—through federally qualified health centers and community clinics serving rural and underserved populations.

Color catches cancer before care and costs skyrocket for a top 5 global asset management company

At the time, genetic tests for ovarian and breast cancer risk typically cost several thousand dollars, and access was often gated through long wait times for genetic counseling appointments at centers of excellence. In 2015, Color launched with a new clinical genetic testing model to help patients understand and take action on their personal risk of cancer. We are so glad to have invested in our employees’ lives with Color and are seeing great impact already on the dialogue around cancer care and prevention in our workforce, as well as on screening rates.”

Rates of cancer screening, stage of detection, and treatment outcomes reflect some of the deepest disparities in American healthcare. The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nonprofit organization that routinely publishes guidelines, and as part of this program, ACS contributes its expertise and educational materials on cancer screening and prevention and connects participants who contact ACS with ACS cancer-related information. In response, Color launched a free nationwide lung cancer screening support service based on ACS’s guidelines—helping people understand eligibility, access scans, and get guided support along the way.

At Color, we’ve created the nation’s only Virtual Cancer Clinic—delivering end-to-end, clinically-guided cancer care that’s accessible to every employee, everywhere. We help shift cancer diagnoses to earlier stages—when it’s more treatable and less costly—by identifying risk, increasing screening adherence, and supporting timely follow-up care. Color’s Virtual Cancer Clinic is the only cancer-focused solution that goes beyond care navigation with an in-house medical team licensed to provide care in all 50 states, and is focused on supporting all of your employees and members—every step of the way.

Comprehensive support for cancer can start in the workplace. Seeing our first cohorts go live with the Color and American Cancer Society program has amplified our confidence that a comprehensive color and integrated model will be the most effective way to change the survival and cost trajectory of cancer for millions of people across the United States. Our population health work has since expanded to support other infectious disease areas. Color mobilizes to change access to critical COVID-19 testing, vaccination, and treatment services. This affordable model has helped hundreds of thousands of individuals take action on their genetic risk. With 159 million Americans receiving healthcare coverage through their employer, the ACS and Color recognize the critical role employers play in removing barriers of access to timely and quality preventive care. Color currently runs the State of California’s HIV PrEP telehealth access program. When antiviral treatment became available, Color ran three-quarters of the country’s state-level telehealth programs, with prescription delivery within 24 to 48 hours of symptom onset.
